Fiber and Fire brings together two leading Bay Area artist organizations, Fiber Dimensions and the Association of Clay and Glass Artists of California (ACGA), for a juried exhibition that celebrates the enduring power and evolving possibilities of material-based art.

Featuring works in fiber, clay, and glass—among the oldest artistic mediums—the exhibition highlights how contemporary artists push tradition forward through experimentation, innovation, and bold imagination. Sculptural textiles, expressive ceramics, and dynamic glass works blur the boundaries between craft and contemporary art, revealing how these materials continue to serve as vital platforms for creative inquiry.

Together, the artists present a vibrant dialogue between history and invention, inviting viewers to experience material transformed through vision, skill, and fire.

Fiber, Clay, and Glass are among the oldest artistic materials, yet in the hands of contemporary creators they continue to spark fresh, inspired visions. The show highlights the innovative ways today’s artists push these traditions forward and redefine the possibilities of their mediums.

Fiber Dimensions is a dynamic collective of 35 Bay Area artists whose practices expand the very definition of fiber art. Through inventive techniques these artists transform thread, fabric, and unconventional materials into sculptural works that blur the boundary between craft and contemporary art. For more than three decades Fiber Dimensions has exhibited throughout the Bay Area and beyond. https://www.fiberdimensions.com

The Association of Clay and Glass Artists of California is dedicated to advancing high standards of craftsmanship and design in clay and glass. Founded in 1945, ACGA has grown to include over 350 members from across California. ACGA regularly presents museum and gallery exhibitions and hosts the annual Clay and Glass Festival each July at the Palo Alto Art Center. https://acga.net
