Sausalito Center for the Arts Opens New Exhibition and Retail Gallery in July
Showcase 25 and The Gallery Store celebrate the SCA artist community.

SAUSALITO, CA — The Sausalito Center for the Arts (SCA) announces two new openings on July 3 at its gallery at 750 Bridgeway in Sausalito: Showcase 25, a juried exhibition featuring 25 SCA artist members, and The Gallery Store, a new curated retail destination celebrating the work of Bay Area artists. Together, they mark a significant expansion of SCA's commitment to making the arts a year-round presence in the heart of downtown Sausalito.

Showcase 25

Showcase 25, on view July 3 through 30, features twenty-five SCA artist members presenting focused, cohesive bodies of work within individual 5-by-5-foot spaces in the main exhibition gallery. The format is deliberately ambitious: rather than presenting a single work or a loose selection of pieces, each artist develops a series that is a sustained exploration of subject, material, and point of view. The result is 25 mini exhibitions unfolding side by side, spanning abstract and representational work, quiet and bold, and every expressive register in between. Together, they offer a portrait of the depth and breadth of the SCA artist community and a rare opportunity for collectors and visitors alike to engage with artists through fully realized bodies of work.

Participating artist members are: Golnaz Abdoli, Suzie Buchholz, Jonah Burlingame, Kay Carlson, Dana Christensen, Sidnea D'Amico, Turaj Ebrahimi, Terri Froelich, Susie Kelly, Christina Kent, Joseph Kowalczyk, Lola, Catherine Mackey, Stacey Manela, Michelle Mansour, Jo Moniz, Sharon Paster, Shiva Pakdel, Silvia Poloto, Libby Raab, Amy Rattner, Frances Williams, Judith Williams, Louise Williams, and Dave Yoas.

The Gallery Store

The Gallery Store, opening concurrently, is an entirely new kind of space at SCA that offers a curated destination where visitors can discover original artwork, handcrafted jewelry, sculpture, small works, and thoughtfully made gifts, all by SCA artist members, all the time. Each rotation features a focused collection by participating artists, accompanied by bios, behind-the-scenes content, and artist profiles that invite visitors to understand the creative process behind the pieces they are considering taking home. The Gallery Store is designed as an ongoing, living destination — a reason to return — rather than a single-visit experience.

For the inaugural installation of The Gallery store, the participating artists are: John Arbuckle, Rick Bulan, Yuan Chen, John Comisky, Sidnea D'Amico, Pat Doherty, Jeff Downing, Kathy Dunaway, Tracy Flanagan, Tina Fossella, Rebecca Fox, Karyn Gabriel, Fuzz E. Grant, Colette Hannahan, Margot Hartford, Michelle Jader, Eric Joyner, Sandy Koepf, Richard Lindenberg, Kathleen Maley, Oola Mar, Clare Metague, John Murphy, Simo Neri, Kelly J. Owen, Sara Pisheh, Alan Quiros, Lynn Rubenzer, and Patti Mazzoleni Titman.

Visit Soon and Often

SCA welcomes more than 30,000 visitors annually, and both openings are intended to deepen the center's role as a home for artists, collectors, and community members looking to support local creativity. Every artist featured in both Showcase 25 and The Gallery Store is an SCA Artist Member.

“With Showcase 25, SCA is explicitly positioning its members as the cornerstone of the organization,” said Shiva Pakdel, the executive director. “Hosting this members‑only exhibition is especially meaningful, given that SCA has previously presented the work of more than 2,000 non‑member artists. By focusing exclusively on our members, we affirm that they are not only facilitators of art and valued creators in their own right, but they are also an essential part of our nonprofit and our community.”

Showcase 25 is on view July 3 through July 30. The exhibition opens with a free public reception on Saturday, July 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., and closes with a final reception on Thursday, July 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. RSVP for the opening reception is available here.
